Synthesia solves the problem of getting presentation videos delivered cheaply and fast and it doesn't look and sound artificial. It is by far the best solution I have come across so far.

I tried creating explainer videos myself using my phone, a selfie-ring, and a basic video editor. As much as I tried, I simply couldn't deliver the lines. I'm not an actor. Somehow the AI bot seems more natural than I did on-screen!

There is no faster way to create a video quickly - you can't beat copy and pasting in some text and clicking go. Sometimes people want to have a video for something but do not adapt well to the visual medium. Ideally, a message is adapted to the medium, but in cases where that's not possible, the idea that something already written can be made into a video quickly is excellent.

It is great for regular announcements on programming and as an accommodation for the hearing impaired. We work primarily with youth ages 14-22, and they seem to be more willing to watch the video than they are to read a long email. First, I'm impressed with the quality of the generated videos. I also really like how the pitfalls, like strange pronunciation, are addressed with a clever and very intuitive UI that lets you hear your text before generating the video. Overall, the UI is top-notch and it's quite simple to create new videos.
