Synthesia Recognized on Fast Company’s Next Big Things in Tech List

Head of Communications, United StatesΒ at Synthesia

Create AI videos with 240+ avatars in 140+ languages

We are proud to announce that Synthesia has been named to Fast Company's Next Big Things in Tech list in the International category, for our interactive avatars. The annual list recognizes breakthrough technologies with the potential to transform industries and shape the future.

"The most exciting technology innovations are the ones that move beyond promise to demonstrate real potential for impact,"Β said Brendan Vaughan, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. β€œThe companies and teams recognized on this year’s list are tackling ambitious problems with new ideas, products, and approaches that have the potential to fundamentally shape the years ahead.

Synthesia's lifelike interactive avatars hold real, two-way conversations. Talking to one feels like joining a regular video call, except the avatar on the other side is available around the clock, in any language, from anywhere. Companies can build their own experiences with our API, or use Sessions, our ready-made platform for the AI-to-human conversations that make up daily work.

Why it matters
Every business runs short of the right person. A great manager can't coach every sales rep before a hard call, a skilled researcher can't interview every customer, and a product expert can't guide everyone who gets stuck. Most companies fill the gap with a recording instead of a rehearsal, a form instead of an interview, or a help doc instead of hands-on guidance.

Interactive avatars can take on those conversations at a scale no single person could. Sessions offers three ways to use them:

  • Roleplay Sessions let people practice important conversations with an avatar that responds and pushes back realistically, then get coached and scored in real time. Sales teams rehearse discovery and objection handling, and managers prepare for difficult employee conversations.
  • Survey Sessions turn any survey or form into a one-to-one interview. The avatar asks your questions, follows up on what it hears, and returns structured insight.
  • Expert Sessions, coming soon, will put an avatar that knows your product and processes in front of customers and employees, guiding them step by step.

Early results from Roleplay Sessions are encouraging. Across deployments, 78% of learners returned to attempt a roleplay more than once, and 83% of those repeat learners improved their score on a later attempt. You can try it out here.

A milestone for our team
This is Synthesia's first time on the Next Big Things in Tech list. Congratulations to the team behind our interactive avatars and everyone who helped bring Sessions to life!
