You can add speaker notes to your slides in PowerPoint using the Notes pane below each slide.

These steps apply to PowerPoint for Microsoft 365, PowerPoint 2021, 2019, 2016, and PowerPoint for Mac.

Adding notes to slides

  1. Open your PowerPoint presentation and select the slide you want to add notes to.
  2. If the Notes pane is not visible, click View > Notes or select Notes at the bottom of the PowerPoint window.
  3. Click inside the Notes pane below the slide and type your notes.
  4. Select another slide and repeat as needed.

Tips

  • You can resize the Notes pane by dragging its top border.
  • Notes do not appear on the slide during the presentation but can be viewed in Presenter View or printed with slides.
