How Insight Global went from zero e-Learning to serving 47 countries with AI video
We spoke with Carrie Wooten, Managing Director of eLearning, and Ambrey McCloskey, Director of IGC Learning and Development, at Insight Global. They shared how a team built entirely from scratch became the backbone of enterprise training for one of the largest staffing companies in the US.

Insight Global is one of the largest staffing and professional services companies in the United States, connecting businesses with talent across technology, healthcare, finance, and engineering.
The Challenge
When Carrie Wooten joined Insight Global in summer 2023, there was no e-learning function, no formal LMS, and no dedicated L&D team. She came in as a team of one with a broad mandate: build an enterprise training capability from scratch, serve a workforce of recruiters and salespeople always on the road, and deliver compliance programs across a growing global footprint.
Before Synthesia, training content meant PowerPoints, screen recordings, and manual video captures that depended on people who might not be there tomorrow. Training requests sat in a queue behind a shared creative and marketing team. Reaching a dispersed, global workforce through live events and in-person sessions was logistically impossible β and getting slower as the company expanded.
The Solution
Carrie went to market looking for a tool curriculum designers β not graphic designers β could use confidently. Her team's philosophy is "taking teachers to corporate": most of her staff are former educators who transitioned from public education into L&D. They needed a platform that was learner-centric over graphic-centric, that could house a brand kit, and that could serve wildly different audiences β from a field recruiter who needs a two-minute training between calls to a software engineer navigating a detailed compliance module.
Introducing Synthesia into the workflow was the easy part. Introducing AI video to a company that defines itself by human connection was the real challenge. What followed was six to nine months of repeated discovery: pulling back the layers on every objection, restating each stakeholder's problem back to them in their own language, and building the case one conversation at a time.
For Ambrey McCloskey and the curriculum designers on her team, Synthesia changed what it was even possible to produce. Video content built around a specific person had a shelf-life problem β someone leaves, the video becomes unusable. With Synthesia, that bottleneck disappeared.
"Video content was not really scalable or sustainable due to turnover. Synthesia provided us with an opportunity to scale our content to a whole other level β and to iterate with the company at the pace things actually move." β Ambrey McCloskey, Director of IGC Learning and Development, Insight Global
The brand kit meant every video felt like Insight Global, not a generic vendor platform. Interactivity features drove real engagement rather than passive watching. And as the company scaled internationally, the team moved beyond language localization into genuine cultural adaptation β adjusting avatar appearance, dress standards, and communication style for employees in India, the Philippines, Colombia, the UK, and Canada.
The Results
In less than two years, the business went from skeptical to what Carrie calls codependent. The teamβs first instinct when a problem arises is now to ask: Is there a Synthesia video for that?
- Content production time cut in half β projects that previously took four weeks now take two
- 47 countries reached β scaled from a handful in under a year
- 85% knowledge retention rate across training programs
- 95β97% average learner satisfaction, consistently hitting their 9β10 out of 10 target
"The business has become codependent on building Synthesia videos. So often, we just need to keep up with the business β and now it's a quick solution. A sales president has an update? Well, we can do a Synthesia video for that and get it to 3,000 people this week." β Carrie Wooten, Managing Director of eLearning, Insight Global
What's Next
The team's focus is deepening its global reach β not just translation, but genuine cultural adaptation. Carrie's team is building content specifically tailored for employees in BogotΓ‘, Hyderabad, and Manila, attending to nuances that matter like communication styles and cultural norms.
"Before Synthesia, we would be bogging ourselves down with updates and requests to make changes. Now we can deliver good quality content at scale β and we don't have to worry about content getting dated." β Ambrey McCloskey, Director of IGC Learning and Development, Insight Global
